Hometown Roots

Seattle Roots

5th generation Seattleite. Having immigrated to Seattle in 1887, my family's legacy and my personal journey are deeply intertwined with the diverse neighborhoods that define the cultural tapestry of our city. From growing up on Beacon Hill, to my family business Moon Temple Restaurant in Wallingford, and Mon Hei, Seattle's first Chinese Bakery with locations in the U-District, Queen Anne, and the Chinatown International District, I understand the unique neighborhoods

Neighborhood Leader

I lead a volunteer program that actively addresses gaps in city services within South Seattle. Our program includes neighborhood patrolling, mutual aid efforts, conflict de-escalation, and connecting individuals with vital resources. This hands-on approach to community service reflects my commitment to ensuring the well-being and safety of all members of our city.

Affordable Housing Provider

I spearheaded the renovation of the historic Louisa Hotel, a multi-million dollar project that played a crucial role in community revitalization, fighting displacement and gentrification. Having been appointed to city and county review commissions and participating in historical task forces, I actively contribute valuable insights to inform decision-making processes related to historical preservation and affordable housing development projects.

Family Owned & Operated

Our family are small business owners passionate about food and preserving the arts. We know first-hand the importance of building community through supporting local businesses, community and culture.

Youth Advocate

Our youth are the foundation of our future carrying the tools to shapre our city. Investing in them means after-school programs, the arts, community centers, parks, youth engagement, sports, music programs and cultural activites. We will continue to be a city that is affordable for families and to raise the next generation.
